Mountain Lion hunting
Does anybody have any information that might be useful for cougar hunting. I have decided to try it this year. I do not have access to dogs so I am looking for information on hunting without them.
thanks, Mark |
RE: Mountain Lion hunting
Hello Mark, Since no one has responded to you, I will. I am not a Cougar hunter. I live in Oregon, where several years ago, they outlawed the use of Dogs for Cats. Since then, needless to say, the Cat population has skyrocketed. I seen a report from the Oregon Division of Wildlife and they recommended that hunters use predator calls, similar to hunting Coyote. A rabbit squeal, or something similar, should have a BIG KITTY come looking for an easy meal. I just hope you have eyes in the back of your head when you go hunting, them Big Kitty' s are sneaky!![:o] Good luck Russ |

Thanks for the info. I am going to try this but I think I will do it from a tree stand. Like you said that can be a little sneaky and I will be able to watch my back a little better while in the tree.
