Deer Hunting Colorado GMU's 77, 78, & 771
Has anyone had any luck picking up a re-issue big game tag in Colorado? I know this is the first year they have done something like that and I've heard pros and cons from various people. I tried for and got a 3rd season buck tag for GMU's 77, 78, and 771. It was the only tag available that week on the western slope that wasn't a first or second season license (my family and I already have tags for those seasons). I have never hunted down by Pagosa Springs but thought I'd give it a shot. I'm going to try to get down there for a few days to scout, if time allows. Has anyone hunted in those units before that can offer tips or advice?

The more I think about the re-issued tags the more I like the idea. I was able to snag a turned in Pronghorn doe tag this morning online for the Canon City area. I think I'm done picking up tags for this year, as my wife is going to kill me if I try for anymore. Its a great way to grab decent tags without having to burn points on them. I'm glad CPW is doing this!
