I want to learn to hunt in CO.
 

Sadly, I was not blessed with a family background of hunters, nor do I have any friends who are into that scene..
So I am reaching out to whoever has tips on learning how to hunt in CO.
I do not know much, but I am eager to learn! :fighting0007:
What are the requirements in CO, licenses?
What guns to practice @ the range with? I am in my early twenties, and am in fairly-decent shape (I know that has some say in which weapon to use)
HOW DO I GET STARTED?
Etc..

If you look on Colorado's Parks & Wildlife website (see main page and Hunter's Safety links below), you can find out a lot of information. There's lots of info on this website and all through the internet as well as books, etc. If you check with the NRA (National Rifle Association), they have a women's hunting group as well. Hopefully this gives you some places to start.

Find a boyfriend who's a hunter.

Seriously.

first ,you need to decide what you wish to hunt and then you may get a little more input on how.
2 there are many hunting videos and shows out there, watch some.
3 seek those who hunt and ask questions, you will find that many are willing to teach someone who wishes to learn.

if I were in CO I would be happy to take you hunting but I am in Idaho.

muley hunter probably gave you the best advice

Sign up for a hunter safety class. It is a requirement for you to get a license, you will learn something about the sport, and you will meet some people in the class.

Many older hunters are very willing to show a new hunter the ropes. With that in mind, drop by a gun or bow shop sometime and ask some questions. Attending a meeting of RMEF, SCI, DSC, etc. will give you the chance to chat with hunters and maybe make some valuable contacts if you are serious.

Safety is the most important thing. Good luck!

Do you live in Colorado? What area? Do you have any experience with guns at all?

Would cutting up an animal bother you?

Should be some info there she would find interesting. If I was still in CO I'd be more than willing to help her but I just started a new job in TX and don't know when I'll be back in the state.

Muley- Yes I do live in CO, westminster/broomfield area.
I don't have too much experience with guns, and just recently started to experiment with some at the range with some friends (none at all are interested in hunting :( ). As far as cutting up animals, I can say I don't think it would bother me, of course I won't know FOR SURE until I'm in that position. ;P
