Default Newbie in Colorado

hello everyone. this will be my husbands and mine first year hunting. we have our small game license, fishing license, duck and waterfowl license, and we have a tag for late season white tale deer. i currently have a .270 WIN remington, and my husband has a .22 revolver and a 12gauge shot gun. i am really looking forward to hunting coyote as well as the big game. with that said, we are unsure about coyote meat. how would you cook it? is it good? (i also brew beer, so i will hopefully be pairing beers with my food.) any advice for new hunters is greatly appreciated.

very few people eat coyote meat, but you can, and if I was to eat it I would probly just fry it. also welcome to the forum!

I ate a coyote once. Let's just say that while it was edible it is a long ways down the list on things I'd like to eat on a regular basis. Once was enough!

Leave it lay where it falls. Coyotes are classified as vermin and you are not required to salvage the meat in CO. Other animals will eat the carcass just like they would if the coyote is hit by a car or dies of natural causes. In nature no meat ever "goes to waste" since lots of things will feed off it.
