New Colorado hunter
Hey,
I haven't been hunting in 8 years and just got out of the army. I pulled a deer tag for area 105 for first season. Does anyone know any public areas I could hunt there and be decent or if not could someone refer me to someone who has land that I could hunt out there? I know it's a long shot But I'm just trying to catch my first deer in 8 years hopefully. I would be willing to give up some meat as well. |
Check the SLT and swa for area to hunt

Go to the unit. And start finding rancher's homes and start knocking on doors. Do it now or the season will be on you. A lot of ranchers homes are empty in daytime so you may need to ride the dirt roads and look for agricultural activity to find some one to ask. Or find a local greasy spoon in that unit and go in and get a meal and ask questions. Good luck. And thank you for your service.

I think it is not a public land.
