Ca D-3 Hunting
Alright guys and gals I'm new to this California hunting. Im from alabama home of whitetails. Blacktails are new to me. I was just wanting to know if yall could give me some rough idea where i might be able to start scouting for the up coming bow season. Im game for any advice yall can give me. Welcome to lovely CA!
For D3 you will be hunting a cross mule deer x blacktail deer. To hunt pure blacktails you will have to hunt the northern A zone and the B zones in CA.
For D3 you will find good hunting down to 500 foot elevation all the way up to 7k during the archery season. Check out F&G website for lands to hunt locally and go to blm.gov website to purchase a few BLM maps of your hunting area. It will show you what is BLM and NF. Get out now until the end of July for some scouting and you should do just fine.
