The elk have started shedding antler velvet in the last couple days. Season opens in 2 1/2 weeks!

Dan324 are from AZ and what tag do you have. My wife and daughter drew a 1st choice cow tag and I drew the same hunt but 3rd choice. our hunt starts sept 26 we are hunting with muzzleloaders.

i got an archery cow tag in unit 6a north, it too starts in 2 1/2 weeks. i went up archery deer in there but only seen does. i did see a bunch of cow elk and a monster bull in the process of shedding it' s velvet.;):D:D

Yes, I am from AZ. I drew a 6A West archery bull tag. Dart, I saw 2 huge bucks up there Sat. I glassed em up just after the rain storm. But...my bow was at home as I was only planning to scout.

I have been up every weekend since early June. This should be a good hunt. Antler growth is good, there is plenty of water, and according to AZG&F the rut should peak during the archery hunt this year.

You are right about the antler growth its the best I have seen in years both deer and elk.
