Montana Hunt
 

I' m heading to Montana this fall Mule Deer hunting in the eastern part and wanted to get some opinions. We are considering going early and hunting the start of the season as this is our first time out there and we' ll be camping out. I know that there is a definite advantage to hunting later in November for the rut but can the early season also be decent?? Thought maybe that catching the deer before they' ve been kicked around might be worth a try too.

I hunt Mule deer & Whitetail deer every year in my home state of Montana. After many, many, many, years of hunting deer & elk. I have come to the conclusion that it does not matter when you hunt. The deer will be there at the start of the season just like they are at the end of the season. They will be smarter at the end of season. Just keep a positive attitude and hold out for a big one.

ok this probably wont do much good but i know the areas around Great Falls (i lived there almost 2 years before moving back here) has pretty good hunts around it.
