for orygun residents dont forget if ya didnt draw a rifle tag you can still get them for columbia basin.the only general deer ive found is on the dark side (western side)

Did you guys draw anything for oregon this year? I missed out on all three choices for deer and still have a couple of years before the ochoco bull tag gets drawn again.

we have rocky mnt elk in eastern oregon.why hunt the ochico?theres all kinds of big bulls in the silvies unit and others and not as crowded.theres that big dude hunting ranch in the silvies and they always feed them,so the population around it aint bad

There are some big bulls in the ochoco unit too. It is crowded though. My brother has always hunted there and that is how I get to hunt with him. Weve always done pretty good there. I believe there are more elk than deer in the ochocos.

Would any of you guys happen to know if there is a decent elk population around the 3 sisters and diamond peak areas.

yes sir there is and its rough country,but ive been told there was some big bulls there

there was a heck of a fire around there this summer so you might want to check with fish an game on the area

Thanks jd, I'm going bow hunting around there 3rd week in sept. I purchased my tag online last night. I will call out there and talk to the fish and game people. Thanks for the heads-up.
