14 can be very good there is alot to choose form in that area and other areas are accessable without going very far. Rabbit Ears Pass is a decent place to start. If you can, find the sheep herders. They are in the woods all the time and have good info on elk. The area can produce well for rifle but remeber to get away from the car. Good luck.
