washington mule deer
 

i am from eastern washington just north of spokane. the whitetail hunting over here is good but there arent any mule deer in the area. i am trying to find a spot to hunt mule deer here in washington im not looking for anyone to give up there sercret spot or anything but if anyone could point me in the right direction. or maybe do a trade hunt of some kind for whitetail or turkey. i have lots of access to private land. so if anyone could help me that would be great. thanks

hmm... I' m just started mule deer hunting last year. I don' t have a good spot yet, but you can try those regions north of I-90 on the cascades. I saw a lot of mule deers, but didn' t get a shooter (3+ pts). I also would like to try whitetail/turkey.

Hey pup if your from Chewelah, the Deer shouldn' t be far from you, maybe get a little higher, I bagge my first Mulie 3 years ago, just out side of Rice, so they are around just tend to stay up on the mountains. Maybe you could head over Sherman pass I know there are tons of them up that way all the way down to Tonasket. Hope that will help, you shouldn' t have to drive far.;)

And hey If I' m coming over for Turk' s next spring I' ll shoot you a line and maybe point me in the right direction. I could' nt get one to come close enough over there this year. My buddy went to school in Chewelah and he takes me up behind the airport. We' re always in birds, just either screw up or they get pressured too much

yea there are a few around here. up in the mountains. but i forgot to mention i am bow hunting. and there just doesnt seem to be that many around here i hunted up by curlew last year i saw a lot of mules but nothing with 3 points. and i have heard lots of stories of guys seeing tons a mulies over in central washington.are there any mue deer anywhere around ephrata? my brother lives there but he doesnt hunt. trapper t i am sure i could point you in the right direction. the air port hu? i know there are alot of big whitetail bucks up there.

Sorry pup but the muleys around here are few and far between. I live in Wenatchee but I deer hunt by Tonasket (Lake Bonaparte). I' ve shot 1 whitetail and 3 muleys up there so I' d say your odds are better just heading West a hundred miles or so. Most of the land around there is public too.

However, if you have some spare Whiteys up there you need help getting rid of and nothing happens for me during general season, give me a call! ;-)

P.S. This 6x7 whitetail came from " somewhere" in that area ;p

Ya, the Whitey' s can get big up there, my cousin has bagged a few that reach the 140-150 range and my buddy that lived in Chewelah has one that almost cleared 160. Pup if you can' t find them there then I' d head for the Cascades. Got them all over just may have to wait out a big one, Our crew usually gets at least a shot at a legal Buck every year, last year I missed two in two days.

yea my friend shot a big 6 by 6 here in chewelah this last year with his rifle. there are tons of whittail up here but im just not seeing that many big bucks on land i can hunt. but i did see a nice buck that will probably be a 4 or 5 point near my house so if he sticks around till sep 1st i wont mind taking him. iv just never shot a muly before so i would kinda like to do that... thanks for all your help so far.
