HEY ! WAYNE 1

Hey Bud -- How goes collar conditioning (CC) ? ? A lot more fun than FF huh !

Coming up for training on Sunday?

Paul came in to the office today, and it sounds like Diesel is done losing puppy teeth, so next for him is the " extremely" enjoyable FF. hahaha So, probably all of us will be there. Hope to see ya.

Hey Doc......Oh Yeah.....I' ll be there.....My oldest son from Vancouver will be here so he may come with me. Shooter' s really starting to pay attention now....lol.....every so often I do have to go back to FF....but have' nt had to the last 2 day' s. I find the more praise I give him.....the more anxious he is to do what I ask. Guess we' ll all have to give Paul lot' s of support in his FF period. Shooter' s done well with the CC......so now I mainly just use the whistle.....I' m beginning to see how all those baby step' s were needed.......See ya Sunday at the pond/field...... Wayne

EXCELLENT ! ! Once FF is pretty much done, and CC has been initiated, you' ll find that praise goes a lot farther than it used to. Shooter is learning that he has a job to do, and that it is an enjoyable job as well !!
He' s learning that he' s doing things not only because he has to, but because if he does it correctly that it' s a lot more fun for him too. Keep up the good work.

Feel free to bring your son. If he saw Shooter before and then sees him now, he' ll be impressed for sure.

Yup, Paul is (actually, Hunter is) ready to begin the " extremely" fun period of FF.
They will both need our full support through this P.I.T.A. period of training.

Casey hasn' t found any Grouse at the Albie area recently, so I' d guess that they are nesting/incubating now. I did see a moose and a sow bear with a cub up there last Monday afternoon..........Pretty cool.

And yes, you' re right, baby steps lead to giant leaps. See ya Sunday.

One more thought:

A dog just wants (needs) to know his positon " in the pack" . The dog doesn' t really care if he is the Alpha or the Omega or somewhere in between -- he just needs to know where he stands. At ABOUT 8 months, 1 year, 2 years and maybe at 3 years, a dog will check his level of dominance or submission (place in the pack). Once he finds out where he stands, he is a happy pooch. Like I said, he doesn' t really care where he is in the pecking order, he just needs to know where he stands.
