Wyoming unit 7 bow hunt
 

I am an avid bowhunter (P&Y Cougar/ black bear/ 370 Bull just in the last two years) and just scored a unit 7 tag on my first attempt. I plan to back pack DIY alone (will consider a hunting partner if anyone else with a tag is interested in coming along) and want to know if anyone has hunted that unit before? I'll do all my due diligence - google earth, maps, etc but cannot scout it before hand. Any suggestionson area/trailhead/elevation/etc? I've never hunted WY before so I'msearching for info. Also,if I can talk my wife into it I may scrape up the cash and hire a guide who can get me into the elk quickly since I may only have 7 days totalto hunt. Any suggestions on a guide in this area?

No luck myself this year with that tag, but in the future for sure!

Wishing you luck, and would definitely like to hear how your hunt goes, and definitely get some info from ya afterwards for my hunt there in the future. Actually would like to probably hunt this area again and again, perhaps moreoften by putting in for the special license, so maybe down the road...

I seemed to have broke the bank too and drew the coveted Unit 7 tag...2 points no special permit price. I am interested in all ya'll have to say. I am doing DIY as well, poured over every map I can and Google Earth...

I am putting in for Unit 7 in Wyoming next year. Were you successful? What did you learn? Was teh public access as bad as they say?
