Default Ranch Hand??

Hey ya'll!

This may not get any replies but I got to at least try! I live in north east Ohio. I am very interested in working on a ranch in Wyoming, Colorado, Montana or one of the Dakota's this summer. I have construction experience and some experience with horses and with maintaining a barn and such. I have travelled out west 8 times now and have fallen in love with the land and the people. I'd love the opportunity to learn from and work with some of the best folks around. I would need room and board, and some type of a paycheck. I have my own vehicle and would be able to begin working as soon as springe semester ends. My starting dates would be May 27th and I could work until around August 20th or so. If interested, or if you know someone who is, please send me a PM and then i can get you my resume and references and whatever other information is required. Thank you!
-Jake

Go to Pueblo Chieftain online edition and look at classifeds, I see them all the time. www.chieftain.com

Also the Canon City Record online edition classifieds often have ads for ranch hands. http://www.canoncitydailyrecord.com/

If youre not a drunk I'm sure the ranches would liek to hear from you. But keep in mind this is a VERY tuff economy and jobs are at a premium. Hit the papers ev day online and be patient.

Good luck.

www.thefencepost.com is the ag news of most everyone involved with farming or ranching in the west. Keep and eye on the employment classifieds.Might also check with sylvandale guest ranch out of Loveland Colorado(they have a website)I know they do alot of college summer kids.
WARNING kiss Ohio good bye if you come out here. You'll never go back.

You can also just look up town newspapers from areas you are interested in and look through the help wanted ads. Also look up feed stores in the area and call them. Lot of times, ranches leave info on help wanted there.

Ok I've applied at a few in colorado and talked to a few people. Not really sure what my chances are, but still hoping for a chance to work hard and learn from people who know their stuff.

Try Joe at 605-375-3718 or Laurie at 605 210-1335. They may have something in the Dakotas.
