Go up just about NF access between Pagosa to Cortez off US 160. You should find family flocks. Easy to break up & call back. I go around Mancos----Jersey Jim Lookout, Haycamp Mesa come to mind right off. CB

South Platte drainage from the metro area to the state line is excellent but only a very limited amount of public land.

Thanks a bunch guys!
I have heard the San Juan and Rio Grand NF had some of the best hunting in Colorado, thanks for the tip!
I am looking forward to scouting it for next season.

South platte river is supposed to have some good populations but I thought it was all private property. Are those Rio's on the Platte?
