Beartooth WMA, Montana

I am a out of stater looking to come up to montana and do some public land for elk and or muley. I have done some research and Beartooth is a really large parcel of public land. Anybody hunted it? What did you all think about it as far as for muley's or elk. Thanks for your input and help

I know its the place to go for goats. One of these days I'll get into those mountains. Have been through them twice-- this season I met a wyoming res who hunted there a few seasons back. VERY VERYrugged country== I just got back from hunting the teton wilderness, just east of jackson hole-- great elk/mulie country, and well south of yellowstone where the wolves and bear have really hit the herds hard-- good luck.

You have to draw a special permit to hunt this unit for both deer and elk. I believe that it is way over rated anyway. They give out too many permits for what the areahas to offer.
