Antelope/deer/elk hunt in Wy

Ok, I'm starting early on this one. My plan is to hunt Wy fall 2009. I just got my pref point in for elk, antelope, and deer so I'll have one pref point for next years draw. My idea is to put in for deer/elk/antilope tags next year in units that are some what close to each other. So far I've been able to find a lot of information online. The one thing I have not found is locations for water holes. I've heard that the state/feds have water sites in areas where water is scaris to help the local game out. Does anyone know if these are on the BLM maps that I can order? I just started getting the Eastmans Bowhunting J and I can already see it is going to be a major help in this process. I'm very early in the info gathering so any ideas would help. Thanks in adv.

Are you going this year or next ggwash21? On the private land part I plan on talking to a wildlife bio and getting some ideas of some good areas. Then contacting the chamber of comers for property owners contact information. Do you know where there is a listing of property owners and trespass fee listing? That would be a good starting point.

I forget the area numbers but Just west of Buffalo in the Big Horn mountains they have some good archery areas for elk. There are also general areas for mule deer. Just east of there on the plains there are thousands of antelope between Buffalo and Gillette.

You could also look at the Snowy range areas for elk which is south west of Laramie. That would be the two places I would start.

heh I'm not trying to do all in one year. I want to learn as much as I can leading up to the draw and put in for something that will work. My thinking is for the first year to only go after mule deer and antelope. Then a year later just go after elk. My main problem is that I live here in Washington State. There aren't as many hunters here as other states so I have found it hard to find hunting partners that aren't flakes.
