Silvertip - have you ever drawn a RFW license. My son did last year and I did this year. Sweet deal if you get in on a good ranch. While we were out hunting we only ever saw other hunters, in the field once. My son got an excellent cow elk, his first one and had a great time hunting. Looking forward to going this year in Nov.......just got my packet from the DOW Friday.
Oh heck yeah. In 06 I drew a RFW tag for a 12kacre ranch near Westcliffe and met up with camelcluch ffrom here and he was my spotter for an antelope hunt. My scope was off(thats another story) so I didnt get one. I got 3 antelope points os I shoudl draw a RFW tag in '09 or '10. In the meantime Ill take a tag off the leftoverleftover list.

Well me and my dad dont own any land here in colorado. we just go up on public, state and blm land and have very good sucess. im 5/5 on elk and not as good with deer beacuse we hunt whitetails where its shotgun only. but no it wouldnt be difficult to teach your kids here in colorado.

My son drew his RFW license last year at the same place you were at in 2006. He got his on a very nice shot at about 200 yds on the second day. I drew mine there this year. I have some beautiful pictures I took after son filled his license last year. We stayed an extra day just to tour around and see the place.
