In Sebastopol myself - new to hunting in general - probably going out scouting this weekend in the cache creek area or mendocino....don't know much about the area around here...

I live in Elk Grove (South of Sacramento) and know there are turkeys at the Spenceville WLA East of Marysville but it is closed to all but lottery selected special permit holders for the first 10 days of the season. I plan to try my luck this weekend at the Feather River WLA near Yuba city.

there areNO turkeys in CA...SSHHHHHHHH!...i live in Elk grove, hunt all public land usually NF or BLM...put in the time scouting and you will have success...also, get away from people the best you can, less people equals more game.
