Catchemrob,

I'm from Mesa and as much as I would like to hunt OTC early in the season it most likely won't happen till very late Dec. or In Jan.. I have to get through two Elk hunts in Oct. and them I'm helping my hunting partner with his late rifle deer and bull tag in Nov. in unit 3a/c. Doesn't leave much time to bow hunt till end of the year. Since I'll be spending quite a bit of time in 3a/c i'll most likey bow hunt that area since I'll be spending lots of time up there scouting and helping.

Hey guys! I work in Phoenix and have a Cabin near Blue Ridge Reservoir. Usually, I got the North Kaibab for Archery Deer but can't this year due to a Moose hunt in Alaska. My wife does have an Archery5B-S Cow Elk Tag. I would be willing to help the guy with the North Kaibab hunt next year, if the good lord is willing and the creek dont't rise.

Morning, Catchemrob. I love my cabin in the mountains. A lot of people don't realize that there are beautiful mountains in Arizona. Unfortunately, my nearest neighbor just sold his cabin and moved to Arkansas. It was a pretty nice setup unless you have a big family. I haven't been paying a lot of attention as to what is for sale up there but I will start. If I see something, I will let you know. My cabin is in 5A with 5B-S just accross the road. Where do you usually hunt?

You are in prime location nice. I have been hunting in 39m and 40a for rabbits , dove , ducks on private ponds , coyotesand snakes. I want to find a small cabin up north for deer and javalina, and maybe elk. anything you see up there would be appreciate. Thanks Rob

Man, you're in antelope country. Although, the biggest deer I ever laid eyes on was on the backside of Mingus Mountain about 10 years ago. I took a turkey in 3C several years ago but I never have hunted deer up there. Good luck wherever you go.

Yes sir, back before all the houses began popping up around my place there was a heard of antelope that would nest about 100 yards behind my house. but nowadays they are all being pushed further and further up mingus. I still see alot of nice mule deer and an occassional bear around my property. I went scouting yesterday evening and spotted a nice 5x5 muley I have an arrow in my quiver just itching to nail him.

No whitetail need to go south for them. I do see kitties from time to time. My buddy in snowflake has dogs he runs for cats so Im gonna get with him on that note and maybe take a cat this year. Ive got a new 30-30 load im itchin to try on something substantial. Im pushing a 110 grain soft point at around 2600 fps from the 30-30 I figured it would be a good one for mt lions.

I'm from Arizona! In Peoria.

Been up in 3a/3c scouting for my dad's elk hunt this friday and my sister's elk hunt in 3 weeks! Of course walked around with my bow every weekend up there. Haven't let an arrow fly yet at a buck, but cant say I havent had the 125 yard opportunities! Just need to close the distance a bit more....... Tons of bucks up there!!! Still got until Thursday....

AZBEAR:So your buddy has a nov elk tag there? What day does that start? Where are you going to be hunting.. Maybe can give you some tips. We've been scouting up there for the last 4 weekends and will be hunting on the archery and muzzleloader the next 3 weeks.

Austin,
His hunt starts November 23rd to 29th. He has scouted north of 260 and from what he tells me that is where he plans to start. I have been checking out the areas along the rim and at least he has a back up area to go to. He got lucky and was drawn for the late deer hunt in the same area and it is the second week in Nov. so he will get some additional time in the area while doing that hunt.
