Default colorado leftovers

I am looking at the colorado leftover license for elk for public hunting. I am coming from pa and plan to come for the first rifle season . I plan on being there 2 days early for scouting thats the best i can do.. These are the units i am looking at 59,9,7,8,19, they are bull tags . I don't want anysecret spots just if you were applying which one would you suggest. Thanks If you want to know anything about pa just ask.

just curious, why not just buy an over the counter tag , most areas that have leftover bull tags probably aren't that good

I've hunted 19 for several years 1st season- bad luck with ATWs, no bulls unless you are close to unit 20 and UC protected camp area on the south side. I've seen quite a few cows.

I looked at the zones and sorry to say that none of them are very exciting. I would saveyour money and do it right next year. If you are hell bent to come out, 7 may be the best out of what you gave. A cow may give you a better shot at more choices. Good Luck!

7,8,19 are close to town and see big pressure and low sucess rates, 10% ish. You are alos looking at areas with CWD concerns. . .keep researching. . .

We're set now I guess for second rifle comboe mulie doe and bull elk. Oct 20-24 in unit 55 then pick up wife and go to unit 45 for Oct 25-29 for bulls and does. Sold our camper trailer in Feb so we'll be hotelling it in Gunnison and Leadville. If any of y'all are in the area give us a call. Send email or pm me for the fone number. I hope to break our 9 year venisonless dry spell.
