RE: CO turkey and elk
I hunt elk in Moffat County, which is up north by Craig. I go on Wilderness Ranch, I'm not sure where Fort Collins is though.

RE: CO turkey and elk
your right by section 19. Access is difficult and elk hunting kinda sucks, but you might find turkeys. I live in loveland. EJ

We all wish that there was good hunting "not too far." Really it's not that bad. open yourself up and there is huge opportunity here.

RE: CO turkey and elk
I live in Greeley and you are going to have to drive 2-3 hours to get into some good elk country. That is not saying there are elk closer...just more elk and more access farther away.

Units 20 and 19 have a lot of turkeys in the fall, not sure about spring, but they must be somewhere close. ;)

RE: CO turkey and elk
Best Turkey is on Colorado New Mexico border countys west of I-25, also can find em on Rampart range, Fort carson etc. bestreference isDivision of wildlife site and look at last yrs. county by county breakdown of turkeys taken.
Fort carson also has a lot of elk but Carson has a lot of red tape also! Turkeys also around Baily and monument, notfamiliar with any areas north of that except creg is very good for elk and mule deer. Good luck! |
