Anyone ever hunt the Bighorn national forest?
and if so is it hard to draw a muledeer or elk tag there? I think there is like 1.1 million acres to hunt on?

RE: Anyone ever hunt the Bighorn national forest?
I hunted above Tensleep a couple of years. Drew an elk tag every year (didn't know how lucky I was) and there are some nice bucks. The resident deer tag was over the counter. Of all the places I've hunted in Wyoming, it was by far the least crowded and if you were willing to get off the road you could hunt all day and the only hunters you'd see were on distant ridges...

RE: Anyone ever hunt the Bighorn national forest?
The Bighorns have become increasingly popular in recent years due to the growing presence of wolves and grizzlies in the other mountain ranges, so tags may be slightly harder to draw than they used to be. You may want to check the drawing odds for yourself to see how much they have changed- I'm not sure what they are for non-residents. Deer should still be easy enough to draw.
