Help with Chiwawa unit, WA

Hi all. My kid has a antlerless permit for Chiwawa. I have hunted the Little Wenatchee drainage before (25 years ago), but was up there this week and that stuff is thick. Doesn't anybody log these National Forests anymore? You can't even drive up some of the roads anymore!

Anyway, will we get into any more open forest if we head for Chiwawa river area? Any advice, knowledge of the unit appreciated. Thank you.

Try going in on the Entiat River side. Try up Mad River. I was in there last year and there's lots of open and logged off country.

Head out the Entiat river, was out there last yr and saw several nice does none further than maybe 100yds. And a big horn sheep about 1500yds out in gods country... That whole area on both sides of the river have a lot of nice game. First day in there Missed a Bobcat, then came upon 4 does within 40yds of the road being stocked by a cougar.. About 40 min after leaving the truck to hunt a nice draw saw fresh bear sign and heard it but never saw it... It's a very good area check with some locals and let them know your trying to get your son a doe and they might send you in the right direction.... Good luck to you both..
