Hello gunnut, I will be heading out to Colorado in Oct. I have been out there before on a self guided huntnext to Meeker hunting on the flat tops. Only had a cow tag and only seen bulls!! Just my luck![:@]This year I`m going to go to Western Colorado Outfitters near Montrose Co. on a unguided hunt. Have you heard any good or bad from this outfitter? Later Triple.

Sorry I have not heard anything about that outfitter. There are a ton of outfitters in Colorado. I think we are the only state that still sells over the counter bull tags, so there is big money in guiding. Are you getting a drop camp away from the roads or what? Also what season are you hunting elk only or combinedeer/elk? I know what your talking about hunting luck. 1st time I went hunting had a cow elk tag and saw nothing but deer(over 100) and moose. I should have been hunting higher. Good luck. Jovan

We will be going to unit 68, third season. Thinking about going to 55 for deer.

IF I CAN DRAW A LATE SEASON ARCHERY TAG FOR DEER IN SE CO I WILL BE THERE ABOUT 3 WEEKS IN NOV.

I have applied, but most likely will not draw. I applied for unit 10, which takes something like 11 PP's, but I have applied for the pilot program season later in Oct. I guess I'm hoping since it is a new season not that many people know about it yet or at least not that many nonresidents...probably wishful thinking.
