What Western state?
What state in the West would you guys consider as the most "hunter- friendly" or shall I say "a hunter's paradise"? The criteria would be the following:
1) Variety of species
2) Game population
3) Game laws
4) Bag limits
5)Weapon seasons (archery, blackpowder, rifle)

RE: What Western state?
I would say
1) Alaska
2) Idaho
3) Wyoming
4) Montana
5) Washington
6) Oregon
Notice I'm in Washington, and it's #5 on my list. If I had my druthers, I'd rather hunt one of the other states every year. WA has lots of species, but less than friendly to hunters in my opinion. But it's the cheapest and closest, so I'll keep paying to play.

1. animals, muleys, whitetails, moose, elk, mt goat, bighorn, antelope, mt.lion, bear, and all kinds of pretators.
2.game pop. well you can get an antelope, bear, elk, deer, mt.lion, tag every year.
3.laws. none that i don't like, well maybe not being able to carry a firearm in the grizzly woods!
4.bag limmits. who needs more than, 2 elk, 3 deer, 3 antelope, 2 bear, 1 mt.lion, 20 rabbits. in 1 year?
5. weapons. you could use anything for you weapon. other than a small rifle.
my most important thought is the cost of living, an average income is only 2?,??? a year, but homes average 40,000-60,000. and taxes no state tax, home tax 100,000 home is 600-700 per year. wouldn't you like that!
but to tell the truth wyoming SUCKS there is no game here, and way to many people. so nobody move here!

i have no idea why anybody would want to move here. overhunted. ugly terrain. no housing. no good jobs.
wyoming would be about last on my list of good places to move and hunt.

RE: What Western state?
slee
Ah Gees! THANKS Slee - I'm in Idaho - DANG - my vote would go (not considering Alaska)
New Mexico
Colorado
Montana
Wyoming
Oregon
Utah
Arizona
Nevada
Washington
Idaho
California
I myself, excluding Alaska and Canada, would arrange this type of order - I would really like to put Idaho last (and that MIGHT be in the wrong place), but I really do not think I would like to hunt to much in California.
