Success for me this elk season...

I connected with the biggest Roosevelt Bull I've ever killed (of the 4) a couple weeks ago. Not much for a story. Waited on a field edge in the evening and out he came. 3 shots, 3 hits. 2 behind the left front shoulder and one in the top middle of the ribs. Here are some pics...

Nice bull!!! That looks just like a bull I saw back in early October down the Weyerhauser road on the left right before you get to the hatchery heading toward Menlo from Pe Ell. There was a nice herd in the back of that guys pasture.

Thanks guys.. I know exactly where you talking about slee. Here is a pic of the 3 bulls killed in that field on open day. 2 of the 3 were from out hunting party. We know the owner of the field. My cousin is married to the farmer's daughter.

Look carefully and you can see all three sets of horns. Two 2 pts. and one 4x3 all with double eyeguards.
I think one branch bull survived outta that herd this year. Our party tried to get him towards the last couple days but the herd eluded us.

That's a lot of meat right there. Yeah, I watched a 5X5 out there in that herd one evening. Huge body! There must've been 40 elk out there.

That's alot of elk. Did you shoot them all at one time? what type firearm did you use? And why are they in a pile, did they fall that way? All in all congrat's on what looks like a great season.

My uncle and his buddy killed two of those in the pile on opening morning. So yes, they were all killed at one time. They are in a pile because that's how they ended up after the guys dragged them to the road using haywire (use for logging). My uncle shoots a .30-06 Winchester 150 gr. Core-Lokts and his friend shoots a 7mm Mag Federal Ballistic Tips or something..
