Rattle snakes
 

I don't know why but lately I've beenreal curious about hunting them next summer. Does anybody know how to prep for eating. I was thinking of useing a 357 mag. A few friends thinks it strange and nasty. lol

i hunted them witha 22 in az. and they are easy to clean u just split the skin from anes to where u cut off head.skinthem. than cut them up into small steakes that is flowered than hot gresstast very good..

That sounds real simple. Usens do you think the 357 is over kill? Thanks for imput guys.

My buddy and I just use .22 with bird shot. Shots are usually close. Just aim for the head. You could put bird shot in your revolver if you want to, but there wouldn't be much of a snake left. Another friends thinks we're dumb for wasting ammo. He's hunted them alot and just uses a shovel or long stick. He's probably right, but it's more fun with the .22.

Be carefull my son spent 4 days in hospital after being bite by one fang on a 8" snake and then 10 days with an infection.

I use my 9mm, but snake shot is the only thing I shoot them with. I took 4 large prairie's this year and had beautiful skins/rattles. I haven't tried soup yet, but I may next year.

I don't have a problem using a 22. I just didn't know what would be best to use. I have a little sw 622 which would be great. Now it'sthe long wait :eek:...........lol thanks guys
