Washington's reclaimed Bandtailed pigeon season
 

Yes indeed, once again Washington state has a Bandtailed Pigeon season! It has been 12 years since the state has chosen to partake in the hunting data and bird number counts and is now back in the conservation scene of these magnificent migratory birds.
I will try my best to provide any specimins I can get my guns on, and have been chosen by the Department of the Interior to be an official data collector to provide them with wing samples of any birds I harvest over the "newly" aquired 9 day Pigeon season here on the Westside of the Cascades. Is there any other states out there that have such a system on Bandtails??? Any tips would be appeciated too...

Only state I have hunted them in was Colorado, and they were so plentiful, you shot them like doves. I have seen a lot of bandtails between Seattle and Vancouver Wa along the railroad tracks. Up to thirty in one trip. I am glad to see the season come back to Washington, because they are a sporty bird and are great on the smoker

All north huh? I'm from the Enumclaw area, anyone have any good upland hunting in this area?

I've found one spot toward ravensdale, in fact, taking my dog there later. only seen grouse and rabbit though sofar.
