Travis..."Feel the Experience!" Congratulations on your first duck. I can still remember my first one, a gorgeous drake Mallard that I shot when I was 10 years old. That was 40 years ago and to this day, duck hunting is still my favourite pastime. Congrats once again and I hope you remember it for a lifetime.

Cool! I've only duck hunted for one season, but I'm sure looking forward to this upcoming season! Last year, I had absolutely no interest in hunting of any kind. A guy I work with insisted that I go with him sometime. I had a 12 guage Mossberg 500 that I'd had for 5 years and shot two or three times. So I went and even though we didn't get anything that day, I was hooked. I probably went 10 times before I actually shot one. We had shot at some ducks that were really close and I hadn't got one yet. Anyways, I went out by myself one day and a duck flew by. I fired off the first two rounds and he was really moving fast. I figured he would be like all the others and just keep on going. But on the third shot, he dropped like a rock. I couldn't believe it! Was pretty exciting. It was one of those hard ones though where the duck wasn't all the way dead yet. I had to remember what my buddy told me about wringing its neck. Got it on the first try thankfully! I got a few more last season. I probably went to the lake every single Saturday morning. MY wife didn't mind since I was usually home around noon. Anyways, over the off season, I've been collecting duck hunting gear. I've got enough ammo for the whole season, new hunting clothes, decoys, calls, I can't wait! Matt

Duck hunting is probably the most addictive sport that there is. I started when I was in high school and have been hunting now for 18 years, and love every trip. I am glad to hear about you guys getting started and killing your first ducks, it brings back some memories. Good luck to everyone this year, and hopefully we will have a better season than last year (worst I have seen in years).

I enjoy seeing the excitement that people get when they shoot thier first bird. Mine was a blue wing teal, then I got a drake mallard and woodie the next day.. I was 11 years old.. Practice Practice and pracatice ... It all pays off into great memories. 30 years later, I am showing my child who is 3yrs old the fun of blowing a call!!
