yeah he is pretty cool .... had gotten in late and just got back to our temp blind when he landed in the dekes (legal shootin time by then) ... told my bro to shoot it as i was still gettin my gear organized .... he said it was too far out (being so small im sure he thought it was out too far) ... i looked at his location in the dekes and knew he was within 20 yrds .... hollared at him and busted him on the flush .... waded out and was watchin the sky as i picked him up ... i knew sumthin was up just by the weight of him .... when i started lookin at him i couldnt believe it..... kill LOADS of mallards and have never seen anything like it

Hey Greenhead911 you have an immature mallard drake or at least one that is still in eclipse plumage. As for the small greenhead I would guess that is at least a hybrid Gray English call duck/mallard or just a poor specimen of gray english call duck. They are domestic versions of ducks bred for small size and loud voices which were used when it was legal to use live decoys. The small size took less feed to hold them from one season to the next. They are now just bred for show and have very small size and short bills, come in many other colors than what you see in your picture also.
