Seen any teal in Oklahoma?

I have been dove hunting all week on the river. I haven't see one teal. I usually see groups flying up and down the river by now. Any one around central OK seen any teal? Season starts in 2 weeks and I am geared up for it.

I am not really central OK, I'm about 10 miles east of lake texoma, but I haven't seen any teal yet, I have seen quite a few geese, I think they have become resident though.

You may not see many teal this year. Up here in SD there were not nearly as many raised for you guys as what we have had fr the last several years. You may not have sent as many breeders back north last spring. The drakes left for southern climes back about three weeks ago. You may still have some greenwings coming your way.

you can check out the waterfowl weekly reports for kansas.

here is region 5, that is the area above NEO.

there are links to other regions that correspond to being geographically over other parts of OK.

Thanks psandhu. Looks like it could be slim pickings if we don't get a cool front and some rain in here the next couple of weeks.

Went dove hunting yesterday afternoon and saw 8 teal fly down the river while I was there. Things are starting to look better. Only 9 more days to go!!

Here is an update from SD. Went scouting again yesterday and saw a fair number of females and brods of BW teal. Some broods are still downy and that means at least 3 weeks to flight stage for them. I hate to see them opening seasons earlier it seems every few years you can't begin to tell drakes from hens especially a half hour before sunrise. Well anyway nuff of my bitching. Hang in ther and we will send you a few more teal. Good luck and don't kill them all we need some seed for next year. We normally don't kill very many BWs up here as they have all gone south by the time our season opens.
