Stoger 12 guage

When I get the money, I might get the stoger. What is good and bad about this. I dont want to spend 1300 for a super black eagle, I was thinking about getting and changing the stocks to sbe 2 stocks. Give me some info please!

I'm thinking of getting a Stoeger 2000 as well. According to an article in the lastest Field and Stream the Stoeger is nearly an identical copy of the Benelli M1 and has a better service record at half the cost.

Mrwake,

I have the Mod. 2000, this is my second year of using it. Mostly bought it because of it being, as I call it, a poor mans' Benelli, and because of the price.

I used it for turkey hunting and duck hunting last year and duck this year. It has been in some nasty weather and so far no problems. About five of my friends bought one, some have had some minor problems, but they were taken care of.

Some complaints I have heard from the people I know: A couple complained it kicked to much, one had a screw work loose and caused it to malfunction. I've got other semi autos and this one is doing great and you can't beat the money. I paid $406.00 and that included tax, 2 years ago.

I honestly don't know how it would hold up under a lot of continuous shooting, say like a dove shoot in south america where they shoot thousands of times in a couple of days. But as I said, so far it has served me well.

For recoil install a good pad like the Decelerator.

I'd rather buy a Mossberg 935 or Baikal MP153. Both have been proven to be very reliable....at around the same price!!!

cant find Baikal, but the mossberg looks decent. But hey the stoger is cheaper, and if modeled like a beneli might be better Im thinking. I dont know though, never shot a mossberg.

I bought one for a friend when they were on sale here in Louisville, KY. 400.00 bucks is a steal for a quality gun. We hunted in some pretty harsh conditions all year, and I don't think he had one problem with it. Would be a great backup gun.
