duck boat

I am new to duck hunting and i recently purchased a 10' alumium jon boat. I usually hunt on inland lakes. I can't afford an expensive motor so i was looking at trolling motors. Are these adequate. If so, how much thrust.

Thanks for any help.

RE: duck boat

I'd suggest you check out some of the local boat shops/pawn shops for a small outboard. If you figure your going to spend $50.00 for a battery and a $100.00 for a fairly decent trolling motor, you might be able to pick up a 2hp or so for a hundred more. Otherwise the trolling motor will work find if you stay above 35 ftlb of thrust but watch out for heavy winds they eat batteries up quick.
