Floating 4th shell in a SBEII
Can someone please explain this theory in a little more detail. I know its illegal, unethical, and unsportsmanlike, but sometimes you just want to know how. This issue has come up more than a few times while in the blind, and I would like to know a little more about it. In other words..........................HOW DO YOU DO IT!

ok i had a verona that would do it.
first close the action then load the mag tube then put the mag lock on then
put the third shell in and push it all the down then put the 4th shell in the chamber
then close the action slow by hand holding the floating shell down
and that is how you do it
when the first shot goes off and the gun cycles it chambers the floating shell and turns the mag lock off
let me know if that works[8D][8D][8D][8D]

Well, the Benelli does not have a magazine cutoff. And you can push the shell follower down with the bolt open, but once the bolt starts closing the follower rises. If the follower is then forced down, it blocks the bolt from closing about halfway. I just went out and tried it again.

I think it will actually work in any gun that you can drop a shell into the carrier. While playing around on a slow hunt, my buddy did it to his Beretta Extrema. I fiddled a little with my 390's but dont really care to do it so left it alone.

The SBE II won't do it. The HK imported SBE's were the models that would float the fourth shell. On those models you could push the carrier down while closing the bolt. The Benelli's have a magazine cutoff but, it's an automatic one and different than the likes of the Brownings, Weatherbys, etc manual style. You can float the forth on a few other models. Even the Browning Golds with the mag cutoff can float the forth. It's not real easy or pratical. I don't recommend floating the fourth shell for safety and possible jamming issues. Ontop of the legal issues.
