Discus is right-woodies don't decoy like other puddlers. You gotta be where they want to go.But putting a few honkers in your spread would be alright.

what about pintail decoys, would they help attract mallards?

When we put out geese decoys, we don't mix them with the spread. We put them off to the side a little ways from the spread, seems to work well late in the season for a confidense builder.

RE: wood ducks and geese???

I tried some pintails in my spread last year and it just made the ducks flare. So I took them out of my spread and they didn't flare anymore (I dunno). We don't get much of a pintail flight around here anyways but were you get some pintails I would try it myself. I also always have at least 3-6 goose floaters in my duck spread. The size and color make them show up a long ways away and alot of times that brings in the ducks better. Later in the season I put out about 5 duck dekes and up to a dozen goose floaters and the mallards come in like they have some type of addiction. Couple things to maybe try for ya.

Wait, wait, ready PLUG EM!!!!!
