Need opinion on banded woodduck!
Well I got myself my first married duck! I have always wanted a woodie, and I do plan on mounting it. My only question is should I have this beautiful woodduck mounted with the band left on? I have already taken it to the taxi, and my buddies are saying that I should have taken the band off and put it on my lanyard. I'm so freaking proud of this banded bird, I wanted it mounted with it on..............AM I CRAZY, or are they jealous?
***Does anyone know how long it takes to get your certificate from the banding company? also the band was an old AVISE band. The ones that diddn't have their phone number on it. When I called AVISE they said that this band hasn't been used in a long time.

Good job getting a banded Woodie, I only have 1 myself.
I would have taken the band off and replaced it after I got the mount back to mack sure it didn't get "missplaced" at the taxadermist.
I only keep easy to replace bands on my lanyard incase I loose it or it "walks" out of my truck.
I would go over to the tax. and get the band ,tell him you want to show it someone.

They're jealous. I don't blame you a bit for putting it on your mounted bird. Just makes you that much more proud of your mount. They are so scarce around here that I don't want to take the chance of losing any in the water.
It should only take a couple of weeks to get a response.
