been waitin all year for late duck season here in upstate ny. every other year the season closes in early dec., this year its on till jan 3rd. so, i'm thinking ALL SEASON about how great its going to be hunting late when the ponds are froze and my honey hole on the hudson river is drawing them in like crazy, right? WRONG!

damn rivers been froze solid for pretty much 2 weeks! i got one day (christmas eve) when it was open enough to see water (got 5, had some good shooting), but the only open water is big lakes (tons of ducks, ALL posted) or creeks (tons of ducks, all in peoples backyards)

so, i'm frustrated, sorry had to vent.

it's just sooooooooo aggravating that for the past 20 years i've gone to the river in late dec and jan with my camera, taking pics of buffleheads, cans, bluebills , hoodies all ducks that arent around all year EXCEPT super late, and this year when i CAN hunt super late, theyre not around cause the hudson looks like the arctic-freakin-circle!!!!!!!!!1

hudson river south of albany. just broke open today, with 2 days left. got 3 greenheads, 2 mergs and missed a nice bluebill. great day! maybe NY dosnt TOTALLY suck....

Sounds like MI buddy!!!! Actually our main migration sucked this year with many of the birds coming through after the reg seasons closed for the year, and dont even talk about our goose seasons....[:@]
