That does not mean it is old. I shot a goose that had a band on it. Was all bent and worn down. The goose was only 2 years old.

Leg Band also known as the trophy of waterfowling! or at least one of the trophies. It is a trackiang band applied to legs of ducks, from what i have heard odds of getting them are around 1 in 100. So far I have killed a banded duck(this year) and a banded collared goose. Ya call the nmumber in on the band and the USGS sends ya a certificate in the mail that tells ya what they know bout that duck!
