a quick question
when you see birds down i a feild that you are allowed to hunt and they are in season, i have heard that if you use a mirror they wont be spooked easily, is that true?
|
RE: a quick question
like if you want to stalk them? i don't think that would work very well. you would be getting glare off the mirror if you moved it too much. try a cow sillouette, or belly crawl.

RE: a quick question
cow silloutte? never heard of it, seems like a good idea though
|
RE: a quick question
i know people who use them on snows but i think ducks or canads will not buy it. unless there is a lot of cows in the area
|
RE: a quick question
i sometimes hunt in a cow pasture next to an 11 acre pond, and the birds always get spooked up before i get to them, do you know where i can go if i wanted to buy one of these cow sillouetts?

RE: a quick question
i have read of people usin the cow sillies too ..... never tried it myself .... but what i did do one time (when i was hard-up ...lol) was belly crawl across a big mudflat while holdin brush in front of me .... and it worked !!!! it was an early season teal hunt ... if ya have ever hunted teal in this area in sept ya would understand .... just wish i could catch sum idiot doin the same thing i did on cam :D

RE: a quick question
I googled it and couldn't find any for sale. I think most people just make them out of plywood. Probably doesn't have to be real detailed. I have also heard that birds are catching on too.

RE: a quick question
We used a cow sill. one season on Canadas...It worked very well.
Then again it was a huge dairy farm, with cows runnin' everywhere.... We just cut ours out of plywood, painted it brown, then put some white patches on it...It worked! Good Luck! |
