what calls to use

RE: what calls to use
I always say to go to a proshop that will allow you to blow some calls and try a bunch and decide from there, for a beginner the HS Black Ice is a great sounding duck call for about 15$ and goose i would recommend the Big River Long Honker Flute. I would stick with a flute for starters then try some short reed calls once you get the hang of it and then you can totally learn a new way to call with the short reed. Luck to ya!

RE: what calls to use
I started out a long honker and know I blow are SR's. If i could go back I would have never blown a flute. Find a SR that fits your budget and stick with it. And then maybe down the road upgrade to a higher dollar call.
Send me a PM if you might be interested in some Sr's I have some lying around and could probably stand to give one to ya. nothing special but somethinng to learn on. GHJ |

RE: what calls to use
All flutes are gonna be easy to learn and will sound pretty good, Short reeds are more versatile but harder to learn.
