I shoot the fastest loads no matter what brands in 3.5" shells, which means 1 3/8 oz shot. Saturday i will be shooting 3.5" #2 federal speed shok @1550 fps out of my nova for the duck opener, in the past this load has served me well.

For the 2 3/4 geese close BB and as fast as posible so 1 1/8 oz and the 3.5" 1 3/8 and BBB for geese
For ducks 2 3/4" I would go with 2 or 3 in the 1 1/16 oz and the 3.5" I would use 1 3/8 oz and 3,2 or 1 shot

Hard to beat a 3.5" 1&3/8 oz load of #1's or BB's for all around use...find what your gun likes best though, it will be worthwhile to do a little pattern work.
