RE: How many banded ducks have you shot?
Speaking of the old bands, a buddy's dad has a band from the second oldest sandhill crane on record. Numbers were illegible and had to be raised with a chemical process. I believe they told him the bird was 48 yrs old.

I got my first band last season on a mallard hen. I called the 800 number and gave the information on the band and within a couple of weeks I got a cetificate in the mail that showed when and where the bird was released. It turned out that the bird was banded and released in Saskatchewan Canada 2 years prior to me taking it here in Northeast Oklahoma. Pretty cool!!!
