RE: Moving Wing Goose Decoys
Are you talking about the spinning wing decoys that are geese. If you are, I have use the spinning wing goose decoys they work great it diffrence between night and day. I have 3 of them that I use, but you can get by with just one. As for your spread I have never really added or taking away the amount of decoys I set out just added more movement over time with the spinning wings. I started with only one when I started out

Never used a goose one do have a couple duck ones and they do work. For geese we have often flagged with a black t shirt and it does work. Snows it works extremely well to do the same with a white T. So I think these would work well and be less hassle than flagging, I'd give them a whirl.

In my area (the Ottawa National refuge in NW Ohio area) the spinning wing goose decoys have been over used by bad shots and now scare the geese away. We use flags and flaping wing converted fullbodiy converted decoys. The local geese even are call shy after a few days so don't over use them .

Here in michigan i have been told that they scare the birds, use of a flag to draw attention works well for me and my buddies.

stick with flagging, works better and alot less hassle

RE: Moving Wing Goose Decoys
Motion in your spread often gives them the added confidence to come on in, just like ducks on the water. Ability to turn it on and off with a remote is very helpful. We use flags to attract from a distance and the robo goose in close.

RE: Moving Wing Goose Decoys
Texas rags work good for providing movement as do the flagging decoys. I've stayed away from the spinning dekes. I figure by the time the birds migrate down they're wise to them from all the pressure you Northern Boys put on them!!!!!!! :D:D:D
In my area, less is more. Small spreads, calling only when necessary, etc. |
