Where do Ducks feed at night?
I've been duck hunting since 1971 and one thing has aways evaded me. Where are the ducks coming from at the crack of dawn. I can see the cut corn areas, but when these crops a up what are they feeding on.
My reason for asking is to try to get a wack at them before dark heading into what ever they head into.

Got a refuge sanctuary anywhere close? They'll go to those.
We found a pond the geese were roosting on once. Set up well before light and had a pretty good shoot as they left the next morning.
Good luck.

The swamp I hunt is on the back end of my property, it covers about 4 sq. miles with a creek running thru it. It's about a mile from the nearest road, so following them out of the swamp is pretty tough.
The morning not a problem but, I thought hunting them over land might me a nice change.
I guess I could talk to some of the farmers.
My area is the sort of a refuge, other than a gravel quarry it's the largest swamp for about 10-15 miles.
