Anyone chasing snow geese?
I have been following the progress of the migration this spring, and will finally get a crack at the birds next weekend in North Dakota. I was just wondering if anybody else has been chasing them, and how they've been doing.

RE: Anyone chasing snow geese?
Ranger, we heard there are some up here in Manitoba, but on the western border of Man/Sask. We have to wait until the middle of April before the spring season opens for them. We did real well last year.
Ron:D .....this pic was taken last April. It is after 3 of us harvested these snows in a few hours. ![]() |

Carp, they taste mighty fine to us. They are hard to pluck so we just breast them out and we also keep the thigh/legs. We usually wait until there is quite a few then after the season is over we have a big dinner using just the thigh/legs. We put them in slow cookers with different recipes.Real good eating!

I like to grill the breasts, they taste like great steak. Snow geese are alot tastier than Canada geese.

RE: Anyone chasing snow geese?
Just got back yesterday. What a blast! Our group shot about 30 in two days, and missed a bunch more. There are still a few geese around in nothern ND, but I doubt they'll be there very much longer.
