i will be in belgium around the first of may this year and i was wondering if anybody knew if it was any cheaper to buy guns overseas? i want a gold hunter and so i looked on brownings world wide site and found a dealer in antwerp which is where i'll be at. i know some browning's are made over there so i thought maybe i could get one cheaper. i could call the dealer because the ph# and address is on the website but i thought i'd ask before i made an overseas telephone call thanks again!

I don't know if the price of the gun would be cheaper. You should also take into consideration how you will get it home, cost of shipping, any duty required, what paper work has to be filled out. Does it have to be shipped to a FFL dealer? Can you bring it back on a plane with you? With all the new security rules it's sure to be a headache to import a gun, it could take months to get all the papers in order before it could be shipped. Just my 2 cents worth.

i was in italy back in the late 90's. wanted to buy and bring back a benelli. so i asked the same question as you on several forums. the majority of responses said that any money saved on the purchase price would be offset by the hastle and legality of bringing it int the country legally. i'm quite sure that it would be even more of a hastle now than what it would have been in the 90's.

I go to Germany every 2 years to visit the in-laws and while over there I checked into Swarovski scopes and they were around $80 less, but with duty taxes and the recent fall of the dollar I am sure it would cost more than finding a sale here.

last year there was a scandinavian that was visiting the rotary clubs in this area. he was a big hunter. he bought 2 nice scopes in the U.S. to take back home. the tax for him back home was 50% of the purchase price if he bought it there.
