decoys (weighted or water keel)
whats best? most hunting will be in no more than 8-10 feet of water.
at most decoys will be out for a week at a time. is weighted worth the extra 10 bucks a dozen. I need to add a couple of dozen to the spread.
thanks

RE: decoys (weighted or water keel)
You will definately want to get weighted keels. They wont flip over in the wind, and they ride a little better in the water. If you don't want to pay the extra, you can weight them yourself.

I have both but prefer the weighted keels. When retrieving them( water keel type) into a boat you get soaked with the water running out of the keels. It just takes extra time to drain them.

RE: decoys (weighted or water keel)
I have a dozen of the new Greenhead Gear detachable weighted keel decoys and I love them. Well worth the extra money for weighted keel. Used to use water keel but got tired of righting some of the decs when thrown out, so went with weighted. Much Better.
