.243 ENOUGH GUN?

Greetings my northern internet friends. I am an Aussie and i want to hunt red deer this year maybe. My first time for deer. Is a .243 in 100 gr. rem corelock through the heart lung area up to 250 yd good enough for a one shot kill? Or better to keep it under 150 yd. I just dunno about this issue.PLS help. Thank you.[:-]

I've used a 243 on our Wi. deer with good results. My son will be using it for his first deer this upcoming season.

haha, funny you should post this in the waterfowl forum. a buddy of mine uses a .243 for whitetail deer and does exceptionally well with it. He swears by this gun.

...HEY LOOK,I WOULD NOT DARE TELL WHAT GUN TO BUY,BUT FROM MY
LESSONS OVER THE YEARS I WILL NEVER OWN ANOTHER FOR DEER HUNTING
ALL THE DEER I KILLED I HAD TO TRACK,THAT IS WITH A 100 GRAIN POWER
POINT BULLET,AND THE DEER WERE HIT RIGHT IN THE LUNG AND BULLET
DID NOT EXIT..BUT YOU JUST GO AHEAD AND LISTON TO WHO EVER YOU LIKE,BUT I BET ONE DAY IF NOT THE FIRST DAY,YOU WILL SAY THIS

.......I PUT A GOOD HIT ON HIM BUT JUST COULD NOT FIND THAT BUCK..
I KNOW THEY WILL SOME SAY IM CRAZY,BUT BEEN THERE DONE THAT..
.......THANKS.......DID NOT COST YOU A DIME........:):):):)
