First time Heading out...

Hey All,
I just purchased a new Browning Gold Semi Shotgun 3 1/2" and I am heading out to try some duck hunting next weekend... I was wondering about what shells I should try... I am totally new to this, but I know I have to shoot Steel and I figured since the gun can handle it I should try the 3 1/2's Anyone got any suggestions...?? I'd like to keep the price somewhat reasonable, but I don't want junk... If I have to get the best then I will... So let me have it...:D

Ours is in until the 24th... I think I am going out tomorrow and then monday, and next sat. So I should have a good taste by then... I picked up some Hevi-shot last night... I had no Idea how expensive shells for duck hunting were... I paid over $50 for 20 shots... Guess I better not miss at that price...LOL

Thats crazy! $50 for 20 rounds,, quality steel(tail, body, beak.. boom... dead bird) at reasonable prices,, you cant beat fasteel. Get some 3.5" #2's at 1550 fps,,, they work really good, on anything within range!;)

Honestly though ive bought it a couple times,, too many other expenses in duck hunting to justify that much on ammunition,,, trust me,, you'll see... THE MOST ADDICTIVE TYPE OF HUNTING THERE IS!:D

I hope you don't get to fond on Hevi-shot..........it's too expensive for us regular duck hunters...........

I use Win Experts and sometimes Supreme................

I want to try some faststeel, and also experts are no being made in high velosity, so I'll them to.

I agree 100%, WAY to expensive!
You bought a 3 1/2" gun, so take advantage of it.I will be buying a 3.5"er also. This allows hunters to get great, dense patterns without having to waste $$ on shells like hevi.Another thing you should look into is that some manufacturers don't recomend using hevi-shot in their guns,I believe Browning is one of them.I personally shoot only Faststeel and love it.

I use mostly fasteel and hevi shot here and there, but fasteel can also be expensive....
